History
Bongan Village is a village located in Tabanan Regency, Bali. The population in Bongan Village is around 8000 people. This village also has an interesting history. In the Babad Arya Tabanan, it is told that after the accidental death of Ki Patih Kebo Iwa in Java, because of the tricks of the governor of Gajah Mada during the Majapahit Kingdom era, Bali was the Javanese rule under Majapahit. The Aryans who became Senapati Yudha in the Majapahit Kingdom were given the power to rule Bali in caka 1256 while Sira Arya Kenceng was given to rule in the Tabanan region. The history of the origin of Bongan Village is obtained from stories from generation to generation. It is said that Bongan Village was one of the powers of the King of Tabanan (Ida Cokorda Tabanan) who experienced ghost chaos (samar, tonya, bebahu). Raja Tabanan then ordered his subordinates to confront the intruders by using the Tulup Empet weapon. The envoy of Raja Tabanan was able to defeat the disturbing movement. Then the village was given the name Bongan Village. In 1938 Bongan Village was still under the rule of King of Tabanan.
