Mesuryak tradition is a tradition carried out from generation to generation in Banjar Bongan Gede, Bongan Village, Tabanan District, Tabanan Regency - Bali. This ceremony is held on Kuningan Day (10 days after Galungan) which is held every 6 months. This tradition aims to give offerings or provisions to ancestors who descend on Galungan Day and return to Nirvana on Kuningan Day. This ceremony starts at around 9 am and ends at 12 noon, because after 12 noon, it is believed that the ancestors have returned to heaven. The emergence of the Mesuryak tradition dates back to the time of the Tabanan kingdom. The Tabanan Kingdom was a kingdom that declared itself fully sovereign in the South Bali area and which was still independent until 1906. Bongan Village was an area controlled by the King of Tabanan (Ida Cokorda Tabanan). At that time the agricultural wealth of Bongan Village was very abundant but was always disturbed by ghosts, then the King of Tabanan ordered his subordinates to face the intruders by using the Tulup Empet weapon. Then the disturbance from the bebahu can be eliminated, at that time the wealth of Bongan Village is increasingly abundant so that the Mesuryak tradition is carried out during the Kuningan Day to deliver the spirits of the ancestors who came down when Galungan returned to heaven. In addition, the Mesuryak tradition is also carried out to express people's gratitude for their ancestors.
