The Mreteka Merana ceremony or often called Ngaben Tikus is a butha yadnya ceremony which is actually often done by the Hindu community in Tabanan Regency, especially by the subak krama in the Pakraman Bedha Village area, Bongan Village, Tabanan Regency. Most of the people in this village live from farming, especially rice. So that ceremonies related to plant safety and fertility, especially rice, have become a tradition. The meaning of this ceremony is to purify the spirit / atma of disease pests so that they return to their origin so that they do not return to the earth as pests and damage all types of plants on earth, especially rice plants. The implementation of this ceremony is in accordance with the contents of the Sri Purana lontar and the Dharma Pemacula lontar which mention Kapreteka, sama luirnya mretekaning wong mati bener which means it is ritualized like a ceremony for the dead.
